Travertine was forming long before anyone had a use for it. It is heavy in the hand, warm to the touch, and keeps every mark it is given. We work with it because it asks for nothing and lasts.

It began with a single tray.

A plain rectangle of travertine from a stone yard, with no brand and no box. It held coffee in the morning and keys at night, and guests asked about it more than anything else in the house.

That remains the idea. A good object does not perform; it stays, it serves, and it quietly improves the room.

Thirty years in the furniture trade taught us that customers forget the catalogue and remember how a piece feels in the hand, and whether it is still beautiful a decade on. Travertine passes both tests.

Every Velore set is cut from one stone lot so the pieces match, then packed to be handed over as it arrives. We only know that the right objects help a home, quietly, from the corner of the table.

The mark

A Roman arch for stone, home and shelter; within it a single V for Velore. The bronze dot above is the keystone that holds the arch. The line beneath is the table where the gift is finally set down.

Materials and care

Travertine is a natural limestone, and colour, veining and pore pattern vary from piece to piece. Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid dishwashers, abrasive cleaners, vinegar and lemon. Reseal once a year with a food-safe stone sealer.

Questions

Is this real travertine?

Yes. Every piece is cut from solid natural travertine, with the pores filled and the surface honed and sealed.

Is it safe for food?

Boards, trays and bowls are finished with a food-safe sealer and suit cheese, bread, fruit and dry snacks. Avoid cutting directly on the stone.

Why does my piece differ from the photo?

Veining, tone and pore pattern vary from block to block; that is the nature of the stone. Pieces within a set are cut from the same lot and match one another.

Can I give the box as it arrives?

Yes. The box, ribbon and seal are the gift wrap.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Not yet. We ship to all 50 states.

What if it arrives broken?

Send a photo to info@velorehome.com within 7 days of delivery and we will replace it at no cost.

Shipping

We ship to all 50 states. Orders over $49 ship free by standard ground; orders under $49 ship for a flat $6.95.

Processing

Orders are packed by hand within two business days, and tracking is emailed on dispatch.

Delivery

Standard ground takes three to six business days. Expedited options appear at checkout.

Packaging

Every piece is seated in molded foam inside a double-wall box that serves as the gift box. Please inspect on arrival and report any damage within 7 days.

Returns

Return any unused item within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Email info@velorehome.com with your order number and we send a prepaid label.

Damaged or defective

Send a photo within 7 days of delivery. We replace the item or refund in full, your choice.

Refunds

Back to the original payment method within 5 business days of receiving the return.

Natural variation

Differences in veining, color or pore pattern are characteristics of natural stone and are not defects.

Velore Home LLC, 1908 Thomes Ave STE 12166, Cheyenne, WY 82001, collects only what is needed to process and ship your order: name, shipping address, email, and payment details handled by our payment processor. We never store full card numbers.

To fulfill orders, send order updates, answer support requests and, if you opt in, send occasional product news. Unsubscribe at any time.

Orders and pricing

All prices are in US dollars. We may cancel orders affected by pricing or inventory errors and will refund in full if that happens.

Product descriptions

We describe sizes, weights and materials as accurately as we can. Natural stone varies, and dimensions may differ by up to a quarter inch.

Limitation of liability

Our liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order.
